Ms. Coronado is the President of ARGUS International Inc.;
a consulting company specialized in developing and promoting
messages to targeted audiences. Utilizing the tools of special
events, public relations, diversity outreach, public and
private partnerships, and other external programs, Argus
guides clients toward meeting their objectives. Clients
include Hispanic Designers, Inc., National Association of
Minority Automobile Dealers, National Foundation for Women
Legislators, Latina Style Magazine, Hispanic Association
of Colleges and Universities, and Dell Inc.
A Texas
native, Ms. Coronado currently resides in Washington, D.C.
Her first assignment upon arrival in the district in 1988
was to serve on the Hispanic Presidential Inaugural Committee
for President George Walker Herbert Bush. She later interfaced
with the White House as President of the Hispanic Alliance
for Free Trade. This national coalition of Hispanic organizations
and business leaders served as a unified voice on the North
American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). She promoted Hispanic
commitment for the NAFTA by leading a trade delegation to
Mexico City to meet with President Carlos Salinas and by
testifying before the 1992 Republican platform committee.
Due to her successes, she was named by Hispanic Business
Magazine, as one of The Top 100 Influential Hispanics in
the United States..
In 1997,
she was invited by Senator Orrin G. Hatch to serve on the
U.S. Senate Republican Conference Task Force on Hispanic
Affairs. As a current member of this task force, she provides
legislative input to 27 Republican Senators. On the local
level, Ms. Coronado served a two-year term on the State
Advisory Committee for the United States Commission on Civil
Rights.
She
continues to serve as a public member on selection boards
for the State Department and USAID. As such, Ms. Coronado
provides input on personnel matters relating to cultural,
economic, and political Foreign Service officers. Ms. Coronado
also served in an exofficio capacity on the National Symphony
Orchestra (NSO) Association Board of Directors at the John
F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She served as
the 2003 President of the Board of Associates at the National
Rehabilitation Hospital.
In 2001,
Ms. Coronado produced the Hispanic Presidential Inaugural
Gala in honor of President George W. Bush. Under her guidance,
$250,000 was raised for the event within a five-day period.
She
is a 1990 graduate of the National Hispanic Leadership Institute,
Center for Creative Leadership, and the Executive Program
at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Ms. Coronado holds two degrees from the University of Texas
at San Antonio, History (1986) and Political Science (1994).
Her studies at the University of St. Louis at Madrid provided
her the unique opportunity to study Spanish culture and
art appreciation at the Prado Museum. She is a 2003 graduate
of the U.S.-Mexico Solidarity Foundation.
