GONZALEZ

Mr.
Gonzalez is the Washington, D.C. Director for the National
Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO)
Educational Fund. As the Washington Director, he is the
chief advocate and lobbyist for the association and develops
legislative initiatives and advocates on behalf of Latino
elected and appointed officials in the areas of the decennial
census, naturalization, election reform, voting rights,
and in ensuring the appointment of qualified Latinos to
top government positions. He has delivered Congressional
testimony before the United States House of Representatives
and the United States Senate. He is a regular interview
source and spokesperson on naturalization and Latino voter
participation on shows such as C-SPAN’s “Washington
Journal,” CNN’s “Inside Politics,”
the Fox News Channel, MSNBC and Black Entertainment Television’s
“BET Tonight,” as well as national and local
Spanish-language press.
Prior to joining
the NALEO Educational Fund, Mr. Gonzalez worked as a staff
member at various levels in Illinois state and county government.
He also has extensive political campaign experience having
won State Senate, State Representative and County Board
campaigns. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English
with a minor in Journalism from Western Illinois University.
