RACHEL MARIE GRIEGO
Director of Meetings and Logistics, NCLR Headquarters, Washington, DC

Ms. Griego is the Director of Meetings and Logistics for the Strategic Communications Group (SCG) of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR). She has been with NCLR for eight years, first serving as Affiliate Services Coordinator and then as Special Assistant to former NCLR President Raul Yzaguirre before accepting a promotion as the Director of Meetings and Logistics. As Director she is responsible for ensuring that the Meetings and Logistics Team is productive and efficient and adheres to NCLR’s mission while achieving event and meeting goals. Ms. Griego oversees all logistical processes and aspects related to the production of NCLR special events including the NCLR Capital Awards, the ALMA Awards Gala, the NCLR Annual Conference, and other meetings or events in development.

In 2000 Ms. Griego left NCLR for a year to accept a political appointee position under the Clinton/Gore Administration at the Department of Labor Women’s Bureau where she served under Secretary Alexis Herman and Director Irasema Garza.

Prior to joining NCLR, Ms. Griego was the Manager of the Food and Beverage department of Ogden Entertainment Services at the Los Angeles Convention Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in pre-law.

A native of California, she now resides in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two-year-old son.
